TAICO celebrates her 21st graduation

All roads lead to Thomas Adewumi International College, Oko today as TAICO celebrates her 21st Graduation and Valedictory Ceremony. It was a joyous day and another epoch-making event as members of the Class of 2023 received their scrolls and Secondary School Leaving Certificates to join the rest of the Alumni in the wider world.

As the old adage goes, twenty children do not play together for twenty years, as the class bows out today each of them begins to explore different pathways which might never make them to be able to come together again in life.

The Head Teacher in his message to the graduand emphasises hard work as the only key that would always make the grasses remain green for them anywhere they go. He stresses that they should not forget their Alma-Mata and all that they have gained here as that would come in handy whenever the need arises. This year, thirty students were presented for graduation by the school. Fourteen graduated with Distinctions, eleven students graduated with Honours and the rest students graduated with Credit.

The Guest Speaker, The Honourable Justice of Kwara State, Honorable Justice Abiodun Ayodele Adebara who was also one of the parents some years ago in his speech titled ‘Round Complete’ likened the end of secondary school as a round off on one stage to begin another chapter. He encouraged them that no matter how well or bad they have done, they must never give up. He went ahead to dwell on the orchestra song and thereafter gave a narrative of his personal experiences after leaving secondary school many years ago. He emphasises that learning is a lifelong journey and that it is a crucial thing to embrace. He encouraged the granduads to cultivate the attitude of compassion and gratitude as he brought his speech to a close. He praised TAICO for maintaining the standard as it was when he had three of his children here. According to him, he is a proud parent as far as educating at TAICO is concerned he has no regret and encouraged TAICO not to relent.

There was an exchange of pleasantries and celebrations in various colours as soon as a close was brought to the graduation ceremony.

TAICO is indeed a place to be!
